How to connect web page of Geek Switcher2020-12-07T08:43:34+08:00

* Connecting to a Network-Auto Recognition of IP Address

Step 1: connect the switcher with router or IP Switcher with Ethernet cable

Step 2: open you browser and input either the ip address the switcher obtained from your router or the default ip address for the switcher 172.16.161.106

Step 3: log in with default account:admin, password:admin

* Connecting to a Network-Manually Setting a Fixed IP Address

When setting IP addresses manually so all units can communicate, they must share the same subnet mask and gateway settings. In addition, the first three fields of numbers in the panel’s IP address also need to match. For example, default IP address of the Switcher is 172.16.161.106 and in order to communicate with switcher, IP address of your computer will be set as 172.16.161.xxx (0-255). This means both units share the first three fields of numbers, but have their own identifying number in the last field so they won’t conflict with each other.
This is generally the most important principle to know when working via Ethernet.

Step 1: Connect your computer to the RJ45 port on switcher

Step 2: Enter the ‘control panel’ of your computer, click ‘network and internet settings’

How to control the audio for model Geek S06/S06M?2020-12-07T08:37:47+08:00

When setting up your production or during your broadcast, you will likely want to control audio levels if the sound is too quiet or too loud. When an audio level is too loud it will clip. Clipping means the audio has increased beyond the maximum accepted level and when this happens it can distort and sound unpleasant. Pressing the VOL+ and VOL-buttons for each input will increase or decrease the audio level for the respective source. For example, if the presenter’s voice is too loud and risks clipping, you can decrease the audio level by pressing the down button incrementally until the level is safe.

Tips:
1.The ‘ON’ button contains different audio controls: AFV(default), Audio on and Audio Off, press the button to switch between them.
ON – When the input’s audio is set to ‘on’, the input audio will be heard permanently, even if the source is not currently on air.( always light on in orange)
OFF – When the input’s audio is set to ‘off’, the source audio will never be heard even if the source is currently on air.(doesn’t light on)
AFV stands for ‘audio follows video’ and will let the audio for a respective input be heard
whenever the source is switched on air. (light in orange when the corresponding source is selected)
RST – restore the input audio level to its default position. This is helpful if you want to cancel any adjustments or reference the original level before you made changes.
MUTE – press this button will turn off the program audio, even if it’s on air.

2.MIC1=IN-L, MIC2=IN-R, you may choose either line in or mic in for both audio channels

How to Live stream to Dacast?2020-12-07T08:36:08+08:00

Geek Switcher has a built in hardware streaming engine for live streaming via its built in Ethernet connection. That means you can live stream to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch or Dacast in better quality, without dropped frames and with much simpler settings.

Step 1 – Connecting to a Network-Manually Setting a Fixed IP Address

When setting IP addresses manually so all units can communicate, they must share the same subnet mask and gateway settings. In addition, the first three fields of numbers in the panel’s IP address also need to match. For example, S06/06M/08/08M default IP address is 172.16.161.106 and in order to communicate with S06/06M/08/08M, IP address of your computer will be set as 172.16.161.xxx (0-255). This means both units share the first three fields of numbers, but have their own identifying number in the last field so they won’t conflict with each other.
This is generally the most important principle to know when working via Ethernet.

Step 2 – Log in Dacast and create Live Stream Studio
dacast live stream
Step 3 – Find the Encoder setup at upper right corner and copy the live streaming address to the web page

Note: Dacast live streaming address is an encrypted address, format for encrypted address is : rtmp://username:password@ip/xxx/xxx.

For example:

Server: rtmp://e00d3c30-a447-569f-7e9c-452131e3cf3e.dacastmmd.pri.lldns.net/dacastmmd
User Name: 3297223892
Password: dbcb01ec41ec5c37
Stream key: 9b9808f1d7074051ae4bf03b3b89bd62_4500
so the full address would be – rtmp://3297223892:dbcb01ec41ec5c37@e00d3c30-a447-569f-7e9c-452131e3cf3e.dacastmmd.pri.lldns.net/dacastmmd/9b9808f1d7074051ae4bf03b3b89bd62_4500

Video Switcher is used when you switch from one video source in your broadcast to another. With the HDMI Switcher, you can switch cleanly using professional cuts or transitions. For example, a cut will instantly change from one source to another and a transition will change sources over a defined duration often using an effect.

  • Switching sources using numbered PGM button

Simply press the numbered button for PGM (red color), it will switch directly

  • Switching sources using numbered PVW button + Cut button

Simply select the numbered source for PVW(green color), then press CUT button. A cut will instantly change from one source to another without effects.

  • Switching sources using transition

Transitions let you smoothly switch from one source to another over a defined duration. For example, a mix transition gradually fades the current source into the next until the original source is no longer visible. A wipe transition will move a line across the original source revealing another effectively wiping across the image.

        To perform a transition:

1.select the numbered sources for preview

2.Press MIX/FX2/FX3/FX4 and duration for different styles of transition.

3.Press TAKE button tell the switcher you want an automated transition, you can also use Joystick to control the transition rate for model Geek SE30/SE30M.
